Milford Fife and Drum

About Us

Milford Fife & Drum, based in Milford, NH, portrays the field music of a Revolutionary War-era militia unit. Our members are from the local communities including Milford, NH, Amherst, NH, Temple, NH and Litchfield, NH and we accept new members both young and old of any gender and from any locale.

We are a somewhat laid-back family and community oriented group whose primary objective is to have fun with our music and help people in our local communities understand the music, dress, and lifestyle of the American Colonial militia field musician around the time of the American Revolution. Our primary goals are to enjoy each other, our music, and our neighbors. At our parades and other public performances, we welcome our non-musician family members to wear Colonial dress and march with us.

Typically we perform at the Independence Day parade in New Boston, NH, at the Labor Day parade in Milford, NH, and at the Hollis Old Home Days parade in Hollis, NH We practice weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Milford VFW hall. We offer fife and drum instruction to prospective members. If you are interested in joining Milford Fife & Drum, or would simply like to check the group out, please contact us and we will arrange to have you visit us at one of our practices.
